Causes

Other options include drinking juice or consuming sugary candy.
If hypoglycemia progresses to unconsciousness, prescription glucagon is injected to raise blood glucose.

Blood glucose levels should be measured while fasting. "Postprandial" sugars taken two hours after eating should be less than 140 mg/dl.
